TYPE OF EVENT: Felons in possession of weapons and drugs.
LOCATION: Fastrip – 345 S. China Lake Blvd.
CHARGES: PC 29800(a)(1), 30305(a)(1), 20510, 25400(a)(3), H&S 11370.1(a), 11350(a), 11364, 11377(a).
Bunch, Matthew – WMA -25 years old, Bakersfield CA resident. Aulston, Timothy – WMA -25 years old, Bakersfield CA resident.
On 01/28/16, at approximately 0310 hours, Officers of the Ridgecrest Police Department contacted Matthew Bunch (Driver) and Timothy Aulston (Passenger) at the gas pumps of Fastrip located at 345 S. China Lake Blvd. During the contact, it was learned that Bunch was driving the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license and Aulston had a warrant for his arrest. A search of the vehicle was conducted and a loaded firearm was found. Extra ammunition, suspected methamphetamine, suspected ecstasy pills, drug paraphernalia, baseball bats, a cane knife, and a machete were also located in the vehicle. Both Bunch and Aulston are convicted felons and are prohibited from being in possession of a firearm. The vehicle was towed and both Bunch and Aulston were booked at the Kern County Jail and held on $202,500.00 and $215,000.00 bail. Photo of Bunch (Left) and Photo of Aluston (Right).
