TYPE OF EVENT: Gas station robbery
LOCATION: 1400 N. Norma St.
CHARGES: PC 212.5 – Robbery and PC 21310 – Carrying a concealed dagger
SUSPECT: Anthony Shippentower – 29 YOA, Inyo County resident
On 03/20/17, at approximately 0055 hours, Officers were dispatched to the Kwik Serv gas station located at 1400 N. Norma St. regarding subjects fighting. Upon arrival, one of the involved parties (a store employee) was contacted and he told the officers the following. The store employee stated that a male subject (later identified as Anthony Shippentower) had stolen a bottle of Gatorade from the store. When the employee confronted Shippentower, he was attacked by Shippentower. After striking the employee in the face, Shippentower fled the scene. An area check was conducted and officers were able to locate Shippentower a short time later. While taking him into custody, it was discovered that Shippentower had two dagger style knives concealed on his person. Shippentower was arrested and later transported to CRF (Bakersfield) where he was booked.
