Monthly archives for October, 2018
RPD has something special lined up this year for breast cancer awareness month. Chief Mclaughlin has authorized a new police patch for the month of October. RPD will be selling the patches to the public as a fundraiser and we want to do something special with the money we raise. Details on what the money will be used for and the cost of the patches will be announced soon and there are limited supplies. Having lost my mother to breast cancer I was excited and honored to be a part of the patch design and fundraiser. I’m sure that we all know someone close to us who has battled, or is currently battling cancer. Some of you may be cancer survivors or currently in a fight for your life. RPD wants to show our support by wearing these patches during the month of October. I would again like to thank the the Chief of Police for creating this program and authorizing these patches for use. I would also like to thank those who donated money to get the patches onto the production line including Mayor Peggy Breeden, the Evan Etoch Memorial Foundation and Toyota of Ridgecrest. We need your help to make this a successful program and hopefully keep it going from here on out.
