CONTROL “MINOR DECOY AND
SHOULDER TAP OPERATION”
On 11/12/2020, the Ridgecrest Police Department worked with an agent from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control to conduct a “Minor Decoy and Shoulder Tap Operation.”
During the operation, RPD utilized an underage “decoy” to attempt alcoholic beverage purchases from Sam’s Place, Ed’s Minimart and Alvord Street Minimart. Out of the three establishments, none sold an alcoholic beverage to the minor decoy.
A decoy Shoulder Tap was also conducted at several locations within the City of Ridgecrest; however, no adults purchased alcohol for the minor decoy.
The Ridgecrest Police Department would like to thank the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control for grant funding through the Alcohol Policing Partnership (APP) program to conduct these operations.
