20-Year-Old Killed in Shooting at San Diego Juneteenth Concert: Police Seek Leads

The San Diego Police Department has sought assistance from the public following an investigation into a fatal shooting that took place during a Juneteenth concert at a park in Liberty Station on Saturday.

During the incident, a 20-year-old man lost his life, while another 20-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The shooting occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m., and emergency calls were received from NTC Park located at 2455 Crushing Road.

Authorities clarified that the incident was not an active shooter situation but rather an isolated incident.

According to a police spokesperson, a fight broke out approximately 15 minutes before the scheduled conclusion of the event.

During the altercation, an individual produced a handgun and shot the two victims before fleeing the scene.

The deceased individual has been identified, but the police have chosen not to disclose his name until his family has been notified.
