25-Year-Old Woman Dies After Falling at Eagle Falls in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. –  According to a report, a woman from San Francisco passed away after falling over Eagle Falls in South Lake Tahoe on Tuesday.

On Wednesday at 10 a.m., authorities identified the woman as 25-year-old Ishrat Azim from San Francisco. This information was initially reported by SouthTahoeNow.com.

As per Michael Lensing, El Dorado County Sheriff Captain, Azim and her friend crossed the highway after parking near the Eagle Falls parking lot.

They proceeded to go over the guard rail to view the top of Eagle Falls. Lensing stated that Azim attempted to touch her toes in the upper pool of the falls while holding her friend’s hand.

Unfortunately, she slipped and fell over the falls.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team later discovered the deceased woman.

It was clarified that a group of people in the vicinity happened to capture the tragic incident on film while capturing the nearby scenery.

Earlier reports erroneously mentioned that Azim’s friends were photographing her before the fall, but it was confirmed that the two groups were not acquainted with each other.

The next of kin of Azim have been informed about her untimely demise.
