3 killed after crash on 91 Freeway in Orange County

A collision on the 91 Freeway in Buena Park left at least three people dead on Friday morning, according to authorities.

The crash was reported just before 4 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the 91 near Valley View Street.

As of 7:30 a.m., it wasn’t immediately clear what caused the crash, or how many vehicles were involved.

Traffic camera footage from the scene showed what looked to be a semi-truck involved in the crash.

According to the California Highway Patrol, just one lane of the eastbound side of the 91 was opened in the area as officers investigated the collision. Authorities recommended taking an alternate route.

No additional details, including the identities of the victims, were immediately made available.
