3 pursuit suspects out of Ventura County holed up in backyard shed in L.A. County
Deputies with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office are in pursuit of a suspect Wednesday afternoon.
It’s unclear what the motorist is wanted for, but authorities were in chase on the southbound 101 Freeway into Los Angeles County before the driver transitioned to the northbound 23 Freeway and and then the 118 Freeway.
Behind the wheel of what appears to be a dark-colored Mercedes sedan, the suspects were clocked at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour when a wheel reportedly flew off the vehicle and the driver pulled to the side of the roadway and three suspects fled the vehicle.
Aerial footage from Sky5 showed the suspects jump a fence and run into the backyard of a nearby residence and hide in a shed.
While it took law enforcement a few minutes to respond, officers with the Moorpark Police Department arrived on the cul-de-sac where the three suspects are holed up in a nearby backyard.
On the 118 Freeway, VCSO deputies were seen searching the abandoned vehicle.
Law enforcement, guns drawn, approached the backyard, opened a gate and allowed the three suspects to surrender.
