A three-year-old boy who died in East Bakersfield on June 5 has been the focus of a suspicious death probe.
According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, deputies reacted when they got a call late at night about a 3-year-old who wasn’t breathing. When rescue workers got to the house, the child was already dead.
Audio from the scanner call showed that the child may have taken fentanyl before his death.
“Sentido Drive across from Puerto Way for a 3-year-old who isn’t breathing after taking fentanyl,” a guy said over the scanner. “Child doesn’t breathe.”
At this time, no one knows what caused his death. No arrests have been made.
