Tacoma, WA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of western Washington, including Tacoma, Olympia, and the East Puget Sound Lowlands, as snowfall continues through Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Seattle, wet snow is expected to bring an additional 1 to 2 inches of accumulation before the advisory expires at 10 a.m. The impacted areas include the Hood Canal region, Lower Chehalis Valley, Southwest Interior, and parts of King and Pierce counties.

Forecasters warn that road conditions will be slick, potentially affecting the morning commute. The heaviest accumulations are expected south of I-90, with little to no accumulation expected in northern King County.

Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution, as icy patches and reduced visibility may create hazardous conditions. Power outages are also possible due to the weight of wet snow on trees and power lines.

Officials recommend checking road conditions before traveling and preparing vehicles with winter essentials. Stay updated on weather alerts and allow extra time for commutes this morning.
