Eureka, CA – A wet and chilly weekend is ahead for Eureka, with heavy rain, high surf, and patchy frost creating potential hazards. The National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory through Friday at 2 p.m., warning of dangerous waves and strong currents along the coast.

According to the forecast, rain will continue overnight into Saturday morning, with temperatures dropping to the mid-40s. While Saturday afternoon brings a slight break, another round of rain moves in late Saturday night, bringing a 90% chance of precipitation into Sunday. South winds up to 13 mph could make conditions feel colder.

By Washington’s Birthday on Monday, expect cloudy skies and lingering rain showers, with highs reaching the low 50s. Overnight temperatures will dip into the upper 30s, increasing the risk of patchy frost.

Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially along U.S. Highway 101. Coastal residents should stay cautious of strong waves and flooding risks.

Plan ahead for rain-soaked commutes early next week and follow local updates for weather advisories.
