Buffalo, NY – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the Eastern Lake Ontario Region, including Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties, until 1 p.m. Sunday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo.
Forecasters expect an additional 4 to 7 inches of snow in the most persistent lake-effect bands, particularly over the Tug Hill Plateau. Travel conditions could become hazardous due to reduced visibility and rapidly changing road conditions.
NWS advises travelers to use caution, as lake-effect snow tends to fall in narrow, intense bands. Drivers may experience sudden whiteout conditions and slick roads.
Residents in affected areas are encouraged to monitor weather updates and submit snow reports through official channels. The advisory remains in effect through Sunday afternoon, with snow tapering off later in the day.
