Louisiana Weather Alert: Heavy Rain, Thunderstorms Expected Monday Near New Orleans – Five-Day Forecast Inside

New Orleans, LA – Residents near New Orleans should prepare for heavy rainfall and thunderstorms Sunday night into Monday, with localized flooding possible. After the storms clear, patchy fog and mild temperatures will dominate the week.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms will develop Sunday night, with some storms producing heavy rain. Rainfall amounts could reach up to two inches, increasing the risk of localized flooding. Winds will shift from the east at 15 mph before calming Monday morning.

Monday begins with patchy fog but clears to partly sunny skies by the afternoon, with a high of 62°F. Winds will remain light from the north at 5–10 mph.

Tuesday brings mostly sunny conditions and a high of 67°F, with calm winds turning south. Overnight temperatures will dip to 52°F, with patchy fog returning.

By Wednesday, expect a warm-up to 72°F under sunny skies. Nighttime temperatures will hover around 58°F, with mostly cloudy skies.

Thursday and Friday will be mild, with highs near 68–72°F and mostly clear conditions.
