Disney shares more details about Avengers Campus expansion, adding ‘Mandalorian’ experience to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2026
During its South by Southwest presentation on Saturday, Disney shared more details about new attractions and experiences coming to the Disneyland Resort.
During The Future of World-Building at Disney panel, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Walt Disney Imagineering President Bruce Vaughn and Robert Downey Jr. showcased what fans can expect from the new rides coming to Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure.
Avengers Infinity Defense
Guests will be enlisted to fight alongside the Avengers in an epic battle against King Thanos. Visitors will team up with heroes like Black Panther, Ant-Man and Hulk as they travel through multiple dimensions to save the universe.
Stark Flight Lab

Visitors will journey into Tony Stark’s workshop to test out new technology.
In Stark Flight Lab, guests will sit in “gyro-kinetic pods” and roll along a track before stopping in front of a giant robot arm. This robot arm will hoist you into the air, where you’ll make several high-speed maneuvers inspired by Iron Man and some other Avengers.
Disney shared a look at the technology created for attraction on Instagram.
Vaughn noted that the ride’s design, which transitions from a track system to a robot arm and back, is a first-of-its-kind innovation in theme parks.
“Usually, we hide all the tech behind the scenes so you can focus on the story,” Vaughn said. “Here, the tech is the story, so we’re putting it front and center.”
Downey Jr., who will reprise his role of Tony Stark/Iron Man when the attraction opens to guests, had the opportunity to visit Walt Disney Imagineering and commented on how much the robot arm for Stark Flight Lab looked like DUM-E, Tony Stark’s robotic assistant from the Iron Man films.
Imagineers took note and incorporated that into the attraction.
An opening date for the new attractions at Avengers Campus has yet to be announced, but construction on the expansion has started.
Star Wars: Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run

“The Mandalorian” creator Jon Favreau joined Walt Disney Imagineers Leslie Evans and Asa Kalama to share more information about the new ride experience currently being developed for Star Wars: Millennium Falcon – Smugglers Run.
A new ride experience inspired by the upcoming film, “The Mandalorian & Grogu,” will debut on May 26, 2026, the same day the movie will hit theaters.
“Opening an attraction and such a massive movie on the same day wouldn’t be possible without the relationships we have inside Disney,” Walt Disney Imagineer Asa Kalama said. “Jon and Dave have shared their story with us, and now we’ve all worked together to create a new mission for Smuggler’s Run that plays into this narrative.”
While the attraction won’t directly retell the events of the film, guests will feel like they’re part of a parallel adventure taking place alongside it. Imagineers even worked on set during filming, capturing scenes to bring familiar locations—like Cloud City—into the ride experience.

The playful BDX droids, which have become a fan-favorite feature at Disneyland, will soon be available at Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. Additionally, these droids will appear in “The Mandalorian & Grogu” movie.
