2 arrested after man found shot to death in San Bernardino

Two suspects were arrested after a man was found shot to death in San Bernardino. 

The suspects were identified as Carlos Porfirio Garcia, 21, and Willie Devon Johnson, 36, both residents of San Bernardino.

On March 8, San Bernardino police responded to reports of a shooting on the 1100 block of West Baseline Street shortly after 8 a.m.

Arriving officers found a man lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital, where despite life-saving efforts, he died from his injuries.

Homicide detectives began investigating and later identified Garcia and Johnson as the primary suspects.

On March 12, Garcia was taken into custody on the 1100 block of West Baseline Street. The next day, Johnson was arrested on the 1500 block of West Virginia Street. 

Details on the motive behind the murder or whether the suspects and victim were known to each other remain unclear.

Detectives are searching for any witnesses who were in the area when the shooting occurred.
