Bringing back the club: L.A. ushers in ‘new era of nightlife’
Nightlife has taken a hit following the pandemic with many people nostalgic for the club life that was a cultural touchstone in the early 2000s to the mid-2010s.
One TikToker claimed, “the club was in its flop era.”
After numerous TikTok videos and articles about the subject, it appears this issue has a solution in L.A.
Two hospitality empires have joined forces to usher in a “new era” to the Los Angeles nightlife scene.

Sam Nazarian, CEO of the powerhouse entertainment and hospitality group sbe and Hui Lim of the Singaporean global lifestyle destination group Zouk Group launched Zouk Los Angeles in the heart of West Hollywood.
Zouk Los Angeles brings “impeccable design and state-of-the-art production, while luring in the world’s best DJs and artists, as both platforms continue their global expansion,” a press release stated.
sbe will be in charge of the day-to-day management of Zouk Group’s 16,500 square foot club.
The two men along with singer Marc Anthony hosted a VIP preview of their latest concept on March 13. Other well-known names in attendance included blockbuster producer and director Michael Bay, Rachel Lindsay of “The Bachelorette,” Jessie T. Usher from “The Boys,” Linzy Luu from Netflix’s “Too Hot Too Handle,” “Vanderpump Rules” star Charli Burnett and more.

Guests were served the finest caviar and chip pairings along with items from an array of sbe’s dining portfolio like the miso cod bites and spicy tuna crispy rice from Katsuya, steak and tomato tartare from Casa Dani, short rib tostadas from MXO, empanadas from Manolo and Sofia Vergara’s TOMA and caviar and chicken bites from Zouk.
They washed it all down with cocktails like the Jalisco Express, Midnight Affair and the Watermelon Sugar.
The club’s grand opening for the general public took place on Friday night with a performance by EDM DJ Politik. Other appearances included internet personality and entrepreneur, David Dobrik,the Chainsmokers, Netflix’s “Selling Sunset” star, Jason Oppenheim and Marshmello.

Zouk Los Angeles then hosted another grand opening the next night, which featured a 40-minute DJ set from platinum-recording producer and music executive, Metro Boomin’. In the meantime, DJs Paul Oakenfold, Vice, Steelo Brim and Ross Naess were in attendance.
Zouk Los Angeles is open nightly Wednesdays – Saturdays, to the general public.
