Homicide probe opens following death of woman found in Malibu
Authorities have opened a homicide investigation in connection with the death of a woman found in Malibu over the weekend.
Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel responded to a medical emergency call on Westlake Boulevard around 7:15 p.m. where they located a female adult, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release Tuesday.
It was unclear exactly where the discovery was made along the miles-long stretch of road but the unidentified woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of death and are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
“This investigation is ongoing, and there is no additional information available at this time,” the Sheriff’s Department said.
