Caribou, ME – Snow showers and dropping temperatures will dominate northern Maine’s weather Tuesday, with icy road conditions likely in Caribou and surrounding areas. The National Weather Service (NWS) reports a 60% chance of light snow, with accumulations up to an inch possible. Highs are expected to reach 26°F before winds increase in the afternoon.

According to the NWS, calm winds tonight will give way to gusts of up to 15 mph by Tuesday afternoon, creating wind chills near single digits. Drivers should exercise caution on major roadways, as icy patches may develop overnight into Tuesday morning.

The rest of the week will bring cooler conditions. Wednesday’s high will only reach 23°F, with a slight chance of flurries early. Winds will remain brisk, gusting to 15 mph. Thursday and Friday will feature partly sunny skies but colder temperatures, with lows dipping to single digits and highs peaking near 19°F.

Looking ahead, a frontal system could bring additional precipitation Saturday, with snow likely in northern areas and a mix of snow and rain near the coast. Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates as details on the system become clearer.

Stay prepared by dressing in layers, ensuring vehicles are winter-ready, and limiting outdoor exposure during colder periods. Updates can be found through the NWS Caribou website or local news outlets.
