53-foot Mobile Relief Diner bringing breakfast to L.A. fire victims

A 53-foot Mobile Relief Diner (MRD) is being deployed to Los Angeles next week to help feed those in need, Denny’s announced Friday.

“The MRD will be parked and serving a hot breakfast of fluffy pancakes (with butter and syrup), sausage links, coffee and bottled water to community members displaced by the wildfires,” the restaurant chain stated.

The following three locations have been chosen as stops during next week’s MRD visit:

Lowe’s parking lot at 2000 W Empire Avenue in Burbank – The mobile diner will serve breakfast between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 22 and Thursday, Jan. 23.

Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena – The mobile diner will serve breakfast between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25.

Location TBD – The mobile diner will serve breakfast at a yet undecided location on Sunday, Jan. 26 and Monday, Jan. 27.

Updates and location changes can be found on the MRD Facebook page.

The diner will be open to the public and Denny’s also encouraged first responders to visit and enjoy a meal.

Its arrival comes as Los Angeles recovers from two massive and deadly wildfires.

The Palisades Fire, which has consumed nearly 24,000 acres and damaged or destroyed at least 5,000 structures and the Eaton Fire, which has scorched more than 14,000 acres and reduced more than 7,000 structures to rubble.

The MRD is deployed to natural disasters and has served over 144,000 meals since its inception in 2017, Denny’s stated.
