Menifee hit-and-run left woman dead in the dirt, police say

A woman who was found dead lying in a dirt field in Menifee Sunday morning was the victim of a hit-and-run crash, authorities believe.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, was found just before 7 a.m. near McCall Boulevard and Aspel Road, according to the Menifee Police Department, as reported by the Daily Bulletin.

She was declared dead at the scene, and her injuries indicated that she’d been hit by a vehicle.

“Investigators believe the woman was in the westbound lanes of McCall when a vehicle that was traveling in the same direction hit her and fled,” the Daily Bulletin report explains.
