*NSYNC reunites in Southern California… almost
An *NSYNC reunion was almost complete in the Coachella Valley.
Lance Bass, J.C. Chasez and Chris Kirkpatrick supported former bandmate Justin Timberlake at his concert on Monday at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert.
The four took a photo backstage, but without Joey Fatone. He missed the hangout because he was gearing up to make his Broadway debut in the musical “& Juliette.”
“In honor of Joey’s Broadway debut tonight, we had a date night without him,” Bass wrote in the caption to the photo on Instagram.
While onstage, the “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” singer acknowledged his groupmates.
“Much to my surprise, a very special night tonight. They were smart and left Joey at home,” he quipped before introducing the four men. “I love you guys. I love you so much. And the biggest round of applause, ’cause we got JC out the house, baby!”
On Bass’ Instagram Stories, Timberlake can be seen mouthing a message to the men mid-performance asking why they didn’t text him to let him know they were in the audience.
“Whoops sorry!” the “Frosted Tips” podcast host wrote.

Fatone posted in the comments writing, “You guys are the sweetest I appreciate it!!!!” alongside a laughing emoji.
Later, Kirkpatrick altered the photo to include Fatone, but in a less glamorous way- with him sitting on the toilet.
“Thank you, Chris for putting me in the photo. It is perfect! I was definitely there in spirit! May the flush be with you all!” wrote Fatone who shared the photo on social media.
For years, *NSYNC fans have been hoping the band would reunite.
There have been come close calls, which have been tearin’ up fans’ hearts.
In 2023 the group returned to the studio for the single “Better Place,” which is on the “Trolls Band Together” soundtrack. Timberlake voices the character Branch in the film franchise. In 2024, the group surprised fans at the “SexyBack” singer’s free show at The Wiltern in L.A. where they performed their hit single “Gone.” They are also featured on the song “Paradise,” from Timberlake’s latest album “Everything I Thought It Was.”
Currently, Timberlake is on the road for his “Forget Tomorrow World Tour,” which kicked off in 2024. He’s set to hit the stage of Phoenix, Arizona’s Footprint Center on Jan. 23.
