Denver, CO – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for parts of the Colorado mountains, with snow and strong winds creating hazardous travel conditions through Sunday morning. Areas affected include Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Medicine Bow Range.

According to the National Weather Service, additional snowfall of 2 to 6 inches is expected, with wind gusts reaching up to 60 mph. These conditions will cause blowing snow, reducing visibility and making roads slick, especially in mountain passes. The advisory remains active until noon MST on Sunday, February 2.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution while traveling. Snow-covered roads and strong winds may create dangerous driving conditions, particularly at higher elevations. Travelers can check real-time road conditions by calling 511 or visiting www.cotrip.org.

This winter storm follows a pattern of heavy snowfall and strong winds that have impacted Colorado’s high-altitude regions in recent weeks. Officials recommend delaying travel if possible and ensuring vehicles are equipped for winter conditions.
