Washington Winter Weather Advisory: Snow and Blowing Winds Impact Spokane Through Wednesday Morning

Spokane, WA – Snowfall and strong winds are expected to continue in the Spokane area through early Wednesday, creating hazardous travel conditions. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory until 10 a.m. Wednesday, warning of additional snow accumulation and reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
According to the NWS Spokane office, snowfall overnight could add 2 to 6 inches in some areas, particularly near Rathdrum Prairie and Reardan. Winds up to 35 mph will cause drifting snow, limiting visibility and making Wednesday morning’s commute hazardous. Drivers should use caution, especially on I-90 and Highway 2, where icy patches and snow drifts are expected.
Five-Day Spokane Forecast:
• Wednesday:Snow likely before 4 a.m., then tapering off. Highs near 30°F. Wind gusts up to 35 mph.
• Thursday:Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of morning snow. High near 31°F.
• Friday:Mostly sunny and cold, high 31°F. Overnight lows drop to 16°F, with patchy freezing fog.
• Saturday:20% chance of snowin the afternoon. High near 31°F.
• Sunday:Similar conditions, with a slight snow chance and highs in the low 30s.
Travelers should check Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT)updates and allow extra time for commutes.
