2 arrested after man found dead in Anaheim motel room
Police say two men have been arrested after another man was found dead in an Anaheim motel room on Monday.
According to the Anaheim Police Department, officers responded to the Akua Motor Inn on 1018 E. Orangethorpe Ave. at about 10:15 a.m. after a body was found in a room. When officers arrived, they found the man with “obvious signs of traumatic injury.”
The victim was identified only as a 68-year-old man. His identity hasn’t yet been publicly released.
In the ensuing days, police identified and located two suspects. On Wednesday, 44-year-old Manuel Ramos, a Santa Ana resident, and 28-year-old Matthew Kundrat were arrested on suspicion of murder. Police identified Kundrat as a transient.
It wasn’t immediately clear how police identified the pair as suspects, how they allegedly killed the victim or how they were possibly connected to the victim.
According to authorities, the investigation remains ongoing.
