Winter Storm Watch Issued for New York City, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey

New York, NY – A Winter Storm Watch is now in effect for northeastern New Jersey and southeastern New York, including New York City and Long Island, from Saturday evening through Sunday morning.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in New York, a wintry mix of snow, sleet, and ice is possible. Snow and sleet accumulations between 2 to 4 inchesare expected, with a light glaze of ice creating hazardous travel conditions, especially on bridges and overpasses.

The storm is expected to arrive Saturday evening, with slick and slippery road conditions likely. The NWS advises delaying travel if possible and using extreme caution if driving is necessary.

Residents are encouraged to monitor weather updates and prepare for winter weather conditions by having emergency supplies on hand.
