Newport, NC – Rain showers are expected in Newport on Saturday morning, followed by a brief warm-up before cooler temperatures move in Monday.
According to the National Weather Service, rain chances will increase after 3 a.m. Saturday, with cloudy skies and a high of 61°F. Northeast winds will remain light, but damp conditions could make for a wet start to the weekend. By Sunday, skies will clear, bringing a high near 73°F and mild conditions.
Monday marks a shift in the forecast, with a high of just 48°F and a 60% chance of rain throughout the day. The cool trend continues into Tuesday, with another round of rain likely and highs in the upper 50s.
Motorists should prepare for slick roads early Saturday and again on Monday as rain moves through the area. Keep an umbrella handy and check for updated forecasts before making outdoor plans.
