Michigan Winter Weather Alert: 6 Inches of Snow Expected from Wednesday to Thursday

Grand Rapids, MI – A winter weather advisory has been issued for much of central and western Michigan, with snowfall expected to create hazardous travel conditions starting Wednesday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, the advisory is in effect from 1 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. Thursday. Snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are expected, impacting cities including Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, and Lansing.

Roads will likely become slick by Wednesday evening, making for hazardous commuting conditions. Officials warn that both the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes could be affected. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution when traveling.
