Salt Lake City, UT – A strong, moisture-rich storm is set to bring significant snowfall to Utah’s mountain regions from Thursday through Saturday, with accumulations of 1-2 feet across most areas. Higher elevations, including the Cottonwoods and Bear River Range, could see totals reach up to 3 feet.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Salt Lake City, snow will begin Thursday and continue into Friday for southern Utah, while northern areas will see snowfall extend into Saturday. The Wasatch Back is expected to receive 8-14 inches, and Bryce Canyon could see 6-12 inches.
Travel conditions may become hazardous, particularly from Thursday night into Friday morning, as heavy snowfall reduces visibility and increases the risk of road closures. Officials urge drivers to prepare for winter conditions, carry survival kits, and check for traction restrictions on mountain routes.
