Texas Cold Snap: Lows in the 20s, Wind Chills in the Teens for Concho Valley and Heartland

Abilene, TX – Texas residents will wake up to bitterly cold temperatures Thursday morning as a sharp drop in temperatures sweeps across the state. Lows will range from 18 to 22 degrees along I-20 and the Big Country, with mid to upper 20s along I-10.

According to the National Weather Service in San Angelo, wind chills will make it feel even colder. The Big Country could see wind chills between 7°F and 11°F, while the Concho Valley and Heartland will experience wind chills in the teens.

Northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph will add to the chill, making conditions feel more severe. Residents should bundle up and take precautions to avoid frostbite or hypothermia.

Drivers should prepare for potential icy patches on roads, especially in rural areas. The cold snap could also strain heating systems, so checking home insulation is recommended.
