Cleveland, OH – An ice storm warning remains in effect until 7 AM EST Thursday for Hancock, Sandusky, and Seneca counties. Freezing rain, sleet, and snow will create dangerous conditions, with up to 0.3 inches of ice expected.
According to the National Weather Service in Cleveland, roads will become slick as icy precipitation intensifies Wednesday evening. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to ice buildup. The storm will significantly impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes.
Findlay, Fremont, and Tiffin will see the heaviest icing overnight. Freezing rain will coat roadways, bridges, and sidewalks, making travel extremely dangerous. Authorities strongly discourage travel. Those who must drive should carry emergency supplies, including a flashlight, food, and water.
The Ohio Department of Transportation urges residents to check www.ohgo.com for road conditions. Residents should prepare for potential power outages and avoid unnecessary travel.
