Raleigh, NC – If you have weekend travel plans, prepare for rain, thunderstorms, and dense fog that could reduce visibility across the Triangle region.
According to the National Weather Service, heavy rain is likely from Saturday into Sunday, with thunderstorms developing in the afternoon and evening. Fog will form overnight, making travel on I-540 and I-40 hazardous. Wind gusts up to 18 mph could accompany storms, increasing the risk of downed branches and slick roads.
Motorists should use caution, especially in low-lying areas prone to flooding. Rain clears out by Monday, bringing sunny skies and cooler temperatures in the mid-40s. Expect dry conditions through midweek, with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.
