Pueblo, CO – A High Wind Watch is in effect for Huerfano and western Las Animas counties from this evening through Friday afternoon. Wind gusts could reach 65 mph, creating hazardous conditions.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, strong winds may cause tree damage, power outages, and dangerous travel conditions. High-profile vehicles, including trucks and RVs, will face increased risks along I-25 due to westerly crosswinds.

Northbound and southbound traffic on I-25 will be particularly affected. Drivers should prepare for sudden gusts, which can make vehicle control difficult. Winds are expected to peak late tonight and continue through Friday morning.

Residents should secure outdoor objects and prepare for possible power outages. Authorities recommend avoiding unnecessary travel in affected areas.
