Alabama Weather Alert: Freezing Temps Tonight and Weekend Showers in Tennessee Valley

Huntsville, AL – Temperatures across the Tennessee Valley will plunge to the low 20s tonight as clear skies create prime conditions for overnight cooling. Residents should prepare for freezing wind chills as values dip as low as 18°F, making tonight one of the coldest this week.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will bring sunny skies, with daytime highs reaching around 44°F. Winds will remain calm, but the frigid morning temperatures may linger well into the early hours. By Friday night, clear skies will persist, leading to another freezing low of 21°F.

The weekend promises a slight warm-up, with highs climbing to the upper 40s by Saturday afternoon. Calm winds shifting to the southwest will contribute to a milder feel during the day. However, overnight lows will still drop below freezing, with Saturday night expected to reach around 29°F.

Sunday ushers in increased cloud cover, marking a change in weather patterns. A slight chance of rain begins after noon, with precipitation chances rising to 40% by Sunday night. Daytime highs will reach 45°F, but wet conditions could develop as the evening progresses.

Looking ahead, Monday may see lingering showers in the morning before skies clear. Highs are forecast to reach 49°F, with lows remaining above freezing into early next week.
