Alleged ‘peeping tom’ in Southern California recorded female victims, police say
LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Authorities arrested a 38-year-old man in San Bernardino County who is accused of lewd acts while reportedly looking into apartment windows where women live.
In a post to social media, officials with the Fontana Police Department received several reports of a male masturbating while “peeping” in windows of an apartment complex in the 11600 block of Cherry Avenue.
The suspect, Joseph Ryan Felix, who had numerous prior arrests for various sex-related crimes, was taken into custody on Feb. 6.
“After his arrest, several videos of victims unknowingly being recorded were found on his cell phone,” police said.
The arrest comes just a day after police in Orange County released footage of an unidentified man using his cellphone and a telescoping selfie stick to look into the bedroom where a juvenile female lives.
In that case, the man was captured on the home’s doorbell cameras as he lifted his phone up, brought it down and looked at the screen before repeating the process.
Police said the family does not know the individual, which is why authorities said they want to locate and speak to him.
In Fontana, authorities are urging anyone with information about this investigation or who believes they might have been a victim of the 38-year-old to contact Fontana Police Department Detective Ubovich at bubovich@fontana.gov.
