Ambulance involved in crash while transporting patient in Glendale
An investigation is underway after a Glendale Fire Department ambulance was involved in a crash during a patient transport late Tuesday night.
The collision was reported shortly before midnight near Colorado and South Central Boulevards in Glendale.
The ambulance was transporting a patient when they were involved in a collision with a four-door Toyota Prius, a spokesperson for the Glendale Police Department stated.

Video showed heavy damage to the passenger side of the Prius while the front driver’s side of the ambulance was smashed.
Two people were transported from the scene with minor injuries, the spokesperson said.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but the spokesperson said there was a power outage in the area when the crash occurred.

It was unclear if the ambulance was traveling through the intersection with lights and sirens on.
There was also no word on whether the person being transported suffered further injury.
