Tucson, AZ – A Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect for eastern Cochise County until 7 PM MST Tuesday, with visibility reduced to as low as a quarter-mile in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Tucson, the affected region includes Douglas, Willcox, and areas east of the Willcox Playa toward the Arizona-New Mexico state line. The primary concern is along Interstate 10, where blowing dust may cause hazardous driving conditions.

Motorists are urged to use caution, as sudden visibility drops can lead to dangerous travel conditions. Those with respiratory issues should remain indoors until the dust settles. The NWS advises drivers to pull off the road, turn off their lights, and avoid using their brake pedal if caught in a dust storm.

The advisory is expected to expire at 7 PM MST, but residents should stay updated on changing conditions.
