Flagstaff, AZ – Clear skies and sunshine will dominate Thursday, but a significant change in the weather is on the horizon for Flagstaff this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Thursday’s forecast includes sunny skies with highs near 48°F. Winds will increase slightly, reaching up to 15 mph by the afternoon. Overnight, temperatures will drop sharply to around 11°F under mostly clear skies, with wind chill values nearing zero.

Friday will remain calm and sunny, with a high near 53°F. Light winds from the southwest could gust up to 15 mph, bringing slightly milder conditions. However, the dry spell will break Saturday night as a weather system moves in, introducing a 40% chance of snow showers.

By Sunday, snow is expected to intensify, with continued accumulation likely. Temperatures will remain cold, with daytime highs around 37°F and overnight lows plummeting to 18°F. Gusty winds could reduce visibility, creating hazardous driving conditions, especially on major highways like I-40.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for the possibility of snow by stocking up on essentials and monitoring road conditions. Travelers should carry emergency supplies and allow extra time for trips during the weekend.
