Phoenix, AZ – A chilly weekend lies ahead for Arizona, with freezing overnight temperatures and cool mornings giving way to sunny afternoons. Phoenix is expected to see overnight lows of 38°F, while nearby areas, including Payson and Show Low, may dip well below freezing. Residents are urged to dress warmly for early-morning errands and weekend activities.

According to the National Weather Service, the coldest desert regions could experience temperatures as low as 8°F in the higher elevations. Friday brings increasing clouds, but daytime highs in Phoenix will reach a comfortable 68°F, warming slightly through Sunday. Other areas like Yuma and Casa Grande will experience similar trends, with overnight lows near 39°F and daytime highs climbing toward the upper 60s.

Saturday and Sunday are forecast to remain mostly sunny with highs around 69°F. Winds are expected to stay light, making for pleasant conditions during the day. However, nighttime temperatures will continue to hover in the 30s across the Valley, so outdoor plans should include plenty of layers.

Looking ahead, there’s a slight chance of rain starting Sunday night, which could extend into Monday and Tuesday. Motorists traveling on I-10 or other highways should monitor forecasts for potential impacts early next week.

Stay informed by checking daily updates from the National Weather Service, and bundle up if heading out early this weekend.
