Arkansas – A major storm system is set to bring heavy rainfall to Arkansas, Texas, and Oklahoma this week, with areas along the I-30 corridor potentially seeing up to 6 inches of rain.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm will begin impacting the region late Monday and intensify on Tuesday, delivering widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts in flood-prone areas. A southerly flow is expected to funnel significant moisture into the region, raising concerns about localized flooding on roadways, including I-30 and U.S. 67/167.

Residents in affected areas should remain vigilant, avoid driving through flooded roads, and secure outdoor items ahead of the storm. The heaviest rain will fall through Wednesday, with showers lingering into Friday.

Temperatures will hover in the low 50s to mid-60s this week, with drier conditions possible by the weekend. However, swollen rivers and streams may continue to pose risks in areas with poor drainage.
