Billie Eilish interviews Ariana Grande at ‘Wicked’ screening

Fans at a Hollywood screening of “Wicked” were in for a major treat on Tuesday night.

After a movie showing at the Directors Guild of America Theater Complex, Ariana Grande and Billie Eilish came out on stage arm in arm like birds of a feather. The two took center stage and Eilish interviewed Grande about playing Glinda in the theatrical version of the Broadway hit.

“You guys just watched my favorite movie,” the “Bad Guy” singer told the crowd.

“Ladies and gentlemen, Billie Eilish. Thank you for doing this. It means so much to me. My team was like, ‘Who’s your dream person to do this?’ And I said, ‘Billie Eilish. But she’s too busy, she’s too fabulous, it’s too much.’ But you said yes I was like, ‘Oh s–t.’ Now I’m so nervous,” Grande admitted.

The Oscar-winning singer and songwriter then got the interview underway.

“I saw the trailer and somebody said they were singing live and I was like ‘What are you talking about? There’s just absolutely no way that they’re singing live and I got scolded,” Eilish told Grande onstage. “I’m wondering about the continuity of it all and how you managed to keep that up?”

“It’s imperative, I think for the emotional integrity of what happens in the scene and also, for me particularly, the ability to improve, like you can’t be married to a track, you can’t be, sort of like, married to certain choices. You have to be able to have the freedom to surprise each other and play and make things up on the spot.”

The two talked about a possible collaboration in the future. When the “Love Me Harder” singer said they needed to do it “at some point,” the crowd erupted in cheers.

“Wicked” has been nominated for 10 Academy Awards, including Grande for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

The 97th Academy Awards will be held March 2 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
