A warm front will bring steady rainfall across Massachusetts throughout Friday. The rain will gradually change to snow Friday evening and overnight from north to south.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, snow accumulations will remain light, mostly affecting the hilly areas of northern Connecticut and Massachusetts. Rain will begin turning to snow around 6 p.m. in western Massachusetts, reaching Boston by 11 p.m. and coastal areas after midnight.

Most locations will see minimal accumulation, with less than an inch expected in Boston and surrounding areas. Higher elevations may receive one to three inches. Roads could become slick overnight as temperatures drop.

Drivers should remain cautious, especially in northern and central Massachusetts. Snowfall should end by early Saturday morning, giving way to drier conditions.
