Breaking News: Armed Criminal Narrowly Escapes Gunfire in Wild LAPD Chase!

LOS ANGELES – A armed suspect who led police on a foot chase in South Los Angeles, where a police officer fired their gun, is in custody, officials said Saturday.

The LAPD’s 77th Area Gang Enforcement Detail was in the area of 76th Place and Wadsworth Avenue at 10:10 p.m. Friday when they saw a man in his 30s with a handgun and tried to stop him.

The suspect ran away, so police followed him east on 76th Place. During the chase, police say an officer fired shots but didn’t hit the offender.

Near Central Avenue and 76th Place, the man was caught, and no police were hurt. The suspect’s gun was also found at the scene.

Several streets were stopped while police looked into the arrest and shooting, including Central from Florence Avenue to 79th Street.
