Sacramento, CA – Motorists are advised to exercise caution as dense fog blankets parts of Sacramento and surrounding areas this morning. Visibility is reported to be under one mile in certain locations, particularly along Highway 99 and nearby roadways.
According to the National Weather Service, patchy fog began forming early Saturday morning and is expected to persist until mid-morning. Drivers should slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra space between vehicles to ensure safety. Temperatures in Sacramento are hovering around 36 degrees, with patchy frost forming in some areas, further complicating road conditions.
The rest of Saturday will see gradual clearing after 10 a.m., with sunny skies and a high of 56 degrees. However, fog is expected to redevelop overnight into Sunday morning, making for another potentially hazardous commute. Calm winds will provide little relief in dispersing the fog during early hours.
Looking ahead, Sunday will bring mostly sunny skies with a high near 57 degrees after the fog lifts by late morning. Frost may continue to form during the early hours of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, with clear and sunny conditions expected by the afternoon. Daytime highs for the upcoming week will range from the mid-50s to low 60s, with calm, clear evenings.
Residents are encouraged to check local weather updates and road conditions before traveling. For extended forecasts, visit the National Weather Service online or tune into local weather stations.
