California Search Teams Continue Hunt for Missing Fisherman in Mabie

Mabie, CA – Search teams in Plumas County are looking for a missing person who fell into the Middle Fork of the Feather River. The individual was fishing with two others near Mitchell Lane when they fell into the icy water and were swept under.
Plumas County Sheriff’s Office received the report at 2:49 p.m. Tuesday. Emergency crews, including search and rescue, Eastern Plumas Ambulance, and Beckwourth Peak Fire, responded immediately. Air and ground support from local agencies also assisted.
Despite extensive efforts throughout the afternoon, crews could not locate the missing person. Search operations will resume at first light Wednesday.
Authorities have not released the individual’s identity, citing privacy concerns. Officials urge the public to respect the ongoing operation.
