Sacramento, CA – Northern California is bracing for a return of active weather mid to late this week, with heavy rain, mountain snow, and gusty winds expected across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Sacramento, rain will move into the Valley between Wednesday, Feb. 12, and Friday, Feb. 14, with the potential for moderate to heavy downpours. Forecasters warn that localized roadway ponding and minor nuisance flooding could occur in urban and poor drainage areas.

In the Sierra, colder air will allow snow levels to drop as low as 2,800-3,000 feet, with significant accumulation possible in higher elevations. Gusty southerly winds may accompany the system Wednesday and Thursday, potentially impacting travel conditions.

The timing and intensity of the heaviest rainfall and snowfall remain uncertain. Residents are urged to monitor forecasts and prepare for potential travel disruptions.

Officials recommend staying updated with trusted weather sources and checking forecasts frequently for any changes in storm development.
