San Francisco, CA – A freeze warning remains in effect for parts of Central California as temperatures are expected to drop to 27°F overnight. The warning impacts San Benito County, the Cholame Hills in Southeast Monterey County, and the Southern Salinas Valley, including Arroyo Seco and Lake San Antonio.
According to the National Weather Service, the freeze warning will be in place from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. PST on Tuesday. Forecasters caution that prolonged exposure to cold conditions could be hazardous, particularly for unhoused individuals and those without adequate heating.
Residents are urged to take precautions to protect sensitive plants, pets, and outdoor plumbing from freezing temperatures. Local officials recommend bringing pets indoors and covering exposed pipes to prevent damage.
This cold snap follows an earlier freeze warning that expired Monday morning. However, overnight temperatures are expected to drop again, prompting another advisory. While the cold weather is typical for this time of year, residents should remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to stay warm and safe.
