Hanford, CA – Rain is expected to return to Hanford on Sunday, potentially affecting travel plans along Highway 198. The National Weather Service warns of a 60% chance of rain beginning late Saturday night, with precipitation likely continuing through Sunday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, Sunday will bring highs near 57 degrees with southeast winds at 5 mph. Rainfall is predicted to remain light, with new precipitation totals under a tenth of an inch. However, wet roads could create slippery driving conditions, particularly for commuters using Highway 198. Travelers should use extra caution and plan for potential delays.

As Sunday transitions into the evening, rain will taper off, leaving behind cold temperatures. Overnight lows will drop to 38 degrees, and areas of frost could form after 4 a.m. on Monday. Residents should take precautions to protect plants, pets, and outdoor equipment from frost damage.

The extended forecast shows a gradual clearing trend on Monday with sunny skies returning by Tuesday. Daytime highs will hover around 58 degrees through midweek, while nighttime lows remain chilly, dipping into the mid-30s.

Be prepared for the mix of rain and frost this weekend and into the new week by checking road conditions and bundling up for the cold mornings.
