Car-hauling semi burns on 118 Freeway

A semi truck hauling vehicles caught fire on the eastbound 118 Freeway in Pacoima Friday, and though the blaze was quickly put out, the incident snarled traffic.

The fire was reported just after 1 p.m. near the Glenoaks Boulevard exit, the California Highway Patrol said, and it was extinguished within minutes.

While traffic was initially heavily impacted, aerial footage from Sky5 showed that the truck was located in the gore point between an exit ramp and the freeway, allowing traffic to continue moving in three of the four lanes.

No injuries were immediately reported.
