Central Illinois Sees Seasonal Temperatures Before Warming Trend Starts Monday

Springfield, IL – Central Illinois will experience seasonable but chilly temperatures this weekend before a significant warm-up begins on Monday.

According to the National Weather Service, lows tonight will range from 20 to 25 degrees across the region. Sunday’s high temperatures will be in the upper 20s to mid-30s. Dry conditions are forecast to persist throughout the weekend and into next week.

By Monday, highs will rise to 40-44 degrees, with Tuesday and Wednesday bringing even warmer conditions of 44-48 degrees, 10-15 degrees above average. Gusty southwest winds of 30-35 mph are expected to accompany the warmer weather.

Residents should prepare for a sharp change in temperatures and enjoy a dry start to the week. Monitor weather updates for potential shifts in wind conditions.
