Champaign, IL – Authorities are warning residents about a fraudulent public health official going door-to-door in Champaign County.
The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) reports that a man is falsely claiming to be a health official. The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) confirms no staff members are conducting home visits.
Officials urge residents to stay alert. If someone unexpectedly arrives claiming to represent public health, do not let them inside. Call 9-1-1 immediately to report the incident.
Legitimate health representatives always carry identification and do not make unannounced home visits. Officials are working to ensure public safety and prevent potential scams.
